Every second brings a fresh beginning,
Every hour holds a new promise,
Every night our dreams can bring hope and
Every day is what you make it. ~ author unknown
Good morning, bloggerettes! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
I got up the other morning, to see this white stuff on the ground. A little disheartening and far too early!
On November 4, we got up to see this. This is PEI in the Autumn. It has since melted but...Winter settles in too early and this is why there are so many snowbirds heading south every Autumn. I often wish I could join them!
The positive is that it brightens up the landscape.
As I mentioned already, I am considering hosting another NO PLACE LIKE HOME party between now and Christmas. If you are interested, please let me know in a comment. I would like at least ten participants before I commit to it. I will use the same format as last year so it will be a little more work doing it this way and I have to make it worthwhile.
The muffins are bran muffins fresh from the oven. Most of my recipes you can find on my sidebar. Just print what you are looking for in the "search this blog."
I went looking for some specific items for decorating this year. Our main tree will be in the family room this year so I wanted some red poinsettias, roses, gold mercury glass ornaments, a wide wired gold metallic ribbon as well as some gingham red and white.
The red and white ribbon is pretty but it is not exactly what I wanted. I will probably use it for something else.
I did find the red poinsettias but the roses were too small so I got hydrangeas instead. I have been into Michaels three times but merchandise is slim pickings this year.
The stores are having trouble getting inventory, so I will have to make do with what I have. The poinsettias are flocked with just a bit of red sparkle on the edges. They are large and quite pretty! The hydrangeas are lovely too with just a touch of sparkle here and there on the petals.
Happiness is a gift and the trick is not to expect it, but to delight in it when it comes. ~ Charles Dickens
I have some incredible news which I am allowed to share with you now. I had mentioned a few weeks ago that I had had some news from my son who lives out on the west coast. He has been offered a wonderful opportunity by the company he works for and he is going to be transferred to the east coast which is where we live. He and his family will be moving to my previous hometown in New Brunswick and they will be only two hours away from us. He will be very busy overseeing all four Atlantic provinces but that also includes the Island so whenever he comes over here on business, we will get to have a visit. But any weekend or holiday we can see them too. My youngest grandchildren will be closer to us and that includes my only granddaughter who is nine. Needless to say, we are over the moon excited about this!
Twenty-one years ago our son left home to go out west to Bible College. He spent some time in the Ministry but left it for another vocation. Since then, I have been praying that he and his family might eventually move back this way. Just last year, I had given up hope when he told me that they were probably going to stay out there. Of course, I was very disappointed, but I just accepted that it must be the Lord's will for them. Now it appears that my prayer is being answered after all.
They are hoping to move east in May, but the threat of a second wave of Covid could put a hold on things. So, I am praying that the second wave will not be as bad as they predict, for so many reasons, and my west coast family can move home sooner rather than later.
The Atlantic Bubble is the safest place in North America to live right now and the sooner they can get here, the better.
I am eternally grateful for this answer to prayer. God is an awesome God for he knew the cry of my heart and that of my son as well! I believe one must never give up on their hopes and dreams.
You can see by the photo, he is a big Cowboys fan! He just celebrated a birthday on Saturday.
His sweet little wife is a nurse and New Brunswick will be blessed to have her!

Thank you for visiting today and be sure to leave a comment if you would like to party with me. Have a delightful week everyone!
Dear Sandi,
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news about your son and his family moving! Answered prayers amaze us and fill us with such joy...our Heavenly Father is always faithful.
Wow..snow..down here it's high 70s and humid. I think everyone is wanting some cooler temps, for a while.
Your tree will be lovely, I'm sure. After the past months, it seems a lot of people are decorating early..looking for beauty and hope.
Blessings, Linda
Good morning blessings to you, Sandi! Thank you for sharing your most wonderful news with us!! You never gave up on your prayers, and soon your son and his family will be so much closer to you. Answered prayers!!
ReplyDeleteYour transferware tea with a bran muffin looks so inviting. Your Christmas tree will be so pretty decorated in my favorite color! I’m sure there’s a skip in your step these days with your good news.
Happy Birthday to your Cowboys loving son! 😘🤗
Sandi, that is the very best news! How wonderfully exciting for all of you! We were just talking about prayer last evening in a Bible study with some young friends, and how important it is to keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking -- to be persevering in our prayers. You have certainly persevered, and what a blessing to see how God has answered!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely be interested in participating in your No Place Like Home party if you decide to do one.
And how I love red transferware! I don't own any (yet!) but I absolutely love it, and brown transferware as well. Thanks for your lovely and cheerful pictures.
That is wonderful news about your son. What does this party involve? I think I could be interested
ReplyDeleteHi Cherie, my No Place Like Home Party would involve any of the following: Cooking and baking, recipes, crafts, crocheting/knitting, quilting/sewing, collections, home decor, tea time, tablescapes, etc....Anything and everything which makes your HOME more enjoyable to come HOME to, for your family, your friends, and yourself. I will be making an announcement about the party soon. I would love to have you join me! Thank you for your visit.
DeleteIt sounds wonderful. Please count me in.
DeleteThat is AWESOME news about your son's move to NB! I'm so happy for you, Sandi!
ReplyDeleteWe lucked out and had unseasonably warm weather (up to 20C!) over the last few days. Got my snow tires installed today so I'm ready for the white stuff!
I look forward to seeing your beautiful Christmas decor! I managed to find some new tea-themed ornaments for my tree this year.
Forgot to mention that you can count me in for your No Place Like Home Party!
ReplyDeleteOh Sandi that is wonderful news. I am blessed that you shared this with us. I have been praying for my youngest son who has turned away from the Lord. He and his family live close by but we never get to see them. Such a heartbreak.
ReplyDeleteI believe I left a comment last time that I would like to participate in your party.
Blessings my friend,
Jocelyn
Hi Sandi. I haven't been blogging much this year. I hope to get back into it more this Winter.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice that your son is moving back to the Maritimes. I'm so happy for you.
My son is in B.C. I won't be seeing him and his family in the near future with this virus.
I am in the Townships for the Winter months. I won't get much Christmas shopping done.
There's a lot of virus here. We are going into the "Red Zone" as of Thursday. That means no visiting nor travelling to other districts. I guess I won't see my daughter in Montreal for Christmas either.
I will join your party and am looking forward to all the beautiful Christmas decorations and baking.
Take care Thelma.
Hello Sandi,
ReplyDeleteIt seems early for snow, perhaps there will be another warm spell! We are very cold out west, too, with snow at higher elevations tonight. Not here, though. How exciting that your family is moving and will be closer to you! You must be so excited. Our youngest daughter and her family just moved from Vancouver to the Island and we love having them so nearby.
I would love to join your No Place Like Home Party. My teaching load decreases by a half after this week and I hope to have more time for home pursuits, especially in preparing for Christmas.
Sandi, that's great news. You must be over the moon.
ReplyDeleteAs always a lovely tea setting.
Cindy
Oh Sandi, that is such happy news about your son! I am so glad for you all - family is everything!!!!! Praise God for answered prayers!
ReplyDeleteYour red and white tea time is lovely. I always feel so inspired when I visit your blog.
You can count on me to be one of the ten for your special party. Thank you for doing that. It's a lot of work, and very much appreciated. Just let me know and send me an email if my health has me off line, which happens. I won't let you down.
Huge happy hugs. ♥
I am so happy for you that your son and family are moving back closer to home! I know that is definitely a wonderful blessing and answer to prayer for all of you! I do hope they can make the move sooner rather than later! Praying this old virus will just up and move out of our lives for good! I love your red and white theme, both today as well as for your Christmas tree decorations. Can't wait to see how it all looks. As far as the party goes, I would love to do it if I can. I don't usually start my Christmas decorations until after our Thanksgiving, so I hope it can be sometime then rather than sooner as we are concentrating on Thanksgiving here now. But you decide what is best for you, and if I can join in the fun I will. God bless you dear friend. So happy for your good news! Oh, we are currently having a bit of a tropical storm "Eta" here in Florida, while you are having snow in the north. I can't believe we are having this in the middle of November. Crazy times in 2020!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news Sandi! I'm thrilled your son and his family will be moving closer to home for you, that is such an incredible blessing! I am grateful for the way that the Lord answers prayer! Your home is always so lovely, and your decor so beautifully done. I just love your transferware teapot, it is gorgeous! We had our second snowstorm this week today. We got a lot of snow, about 8", and then it turned to rain, crazy weather everywhere I think! Many blessings to you dear friend!
