Dear blogger friends,
I have an urgent prayer request.
Hurricane Dorian is racing up the coast of the US and is heading in our direction this weekend. Hurricane force winds, 75 to 100+ mm of rain causing flooding, and power outages are expected with this storm.
The birds have been very busy the past few days at the feeders. However, there hasn't been a bird in sight today so that is a clear sign that something is up.
Prince Edward Island, where I live, as well as Carolyn of Aiken House and Gardens blog, and the Atlantic provinces have not had this magnitude of storm in many years. Please pray for our safety and the protection of our homes and properties. I also just heard from Thelma of Thel's Kitchen in the Gaspe, Quebec, and they are also in the path of this storm. So please pray for them as well.
Please continue to pray for those in the Bahamas. Their devastation is heartbreaking! We have young people here who go to our church and UPEI who have not been able to touch base with family members in the Bahamas. So sad!
Hopefully, I will be back soon with a new post.
Thank you so much for caring and for praying. The Lord bless you all!

This lovely Hibiscus plant was gifted to me in memory of my mother last month when she passed.
"Lord, give me an open heart to find You everywhere, to glimpse the heaven enfolded in a bud, and to experience eternity in the smallest act of love." ~ Mother Teresa
Hi Sandi. We are in Dorian's path also. I have everything anchored down and I 'm hoping it will calm before it reaches us here in the Gaspé. God Bless and stay safe. xo
ReplyDeleteThelma, I've added your area as well. You stay safe too, my friend! Hugs!
DeleteWe certainly will pray, Sandi!! So thankful that God is in control. "The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea."(from Psalm 93)
ReplyDeleteJust this morning I read these verses from Job 38: "Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness as a swaddling band for it. And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed."
Praying that our all-powerful God will "stay the proud waves" before they get to your Island! He is able!
Thank you for the scripture, Mrs. T, and God bless you!
ReplyDeleteAgreeing with Mrs. T for the Lord to 'stay the proud waves' on your behalf and all those in Dorion's path.
ReplyDeleteWe'll watch for your next post, Sandi. Hugs, Brenda xox
Thank you, Brenda, and the Lord bless you!
DeleteI always pray for you everyday, Sandi, but I will add about the hurricane heading your way. I didn’t realize that the effects would head that far north. Prayers will be lifted. 😘🙏🏻🤗
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kitty, and the Lord bless you!
DeleteOh Sandi, you, your family and the whole area are in my prayers. Dorian scooted by us yesterday on the coast of SC. I live inland so it wasn't as bad as we had feared. (Everything has been shut down for days.) Hopefully it will turn out to sea...
ReplyDeleteDo take care and God bless.
Linda
God bless, Linda, and thank you!

ReplyDeleteMany prayers going out everywhere for all touched by the storm. Please remain safe and praying you will be out of harms way. HUGS
ReplyDeleteHave been praying for all in Dorian's path, will add your name and Thelma's to the list, may you and your homes be safe. Living in FL, this time last Sat. Dorian was headed straight for us with those 185 mph winds. The Bahamas bore the brunt of that storm for over 24 hours, then it slowly moved northward, skirting FL. We barely had rain or wind here for which I was/am thankful. I stayed with a friend in her concrete home for three nights, coming home Wed morning and it was oh so good to be home again. May God bless and keep you with His tender loving care. ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeletePraying that the Lord protects you and everyone in Dorian's path. Isn't it reassuring to be able to trust our powerful God!

We are grateful but have been praying for the Bahamas and the devisation . Praying for all of you and asking the Lord place His hedge of protection around you all . Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeletePraying for the Maritimes, Sandi. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteDorian skirted by us this past week. Praying for your safety and for the people in the Bahamas.
ReplyDeletePrayers for your safety, Sandi and all others in your area. I have been through many hurricanes and my only advise is if they tell you to leave your area for shelter. Go.
ReplyDeleteStay safe.
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteHoping and praying that Dorian doesn't do too much damage as it passes by us.
I think it will be a long night for us tonight.
Stay safe!
Carolyn
Praying for all! God bless you!

Praying for you, Sandi. Please give us an update when you can. I hate this destructive weather. When I lived in FL, I spent a lot of time in the Bahamas and I am just heartbroken at the magnitude of damage there. It is gut-wrenching.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you- xo Diana
Hope you all came through just fine!
ReplyDeletep.s. Hi Sandi. Thanks so much for following Writing Straight from the Heart. That was a joy to hear. Blessings to you. Susan
