Springtime Pink and Green

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hello ladies! Well, here it is February which is heart month and we're half way through the winter. It's a nice sunny day and I'm thinking about springtime. Brrr, it's very cold outside but inside it's warm and cozy.

On this very cold day, nothing perks a table up more than fresh flowers and these sweet little spray roses are a good match to a new teapot. Yes, you read that correctly! I have a new teapot. *blushes* For Christmas I had been gifted a pair of glass turquoise birds to keep company with my little turquoise parrot. You remember him.

Unfortunately, the birds got knocked over and broke and I couldn't glue them back together. So the gift-giver replaced them with this teapot. Do I like it? You bettcha! What's not to love about pink and green and roses? *la sigh*

So I brought out some pink and green teacups. The green set is made by Colclough.

The pink set is made by Aynsley

A cup for you and one for me. Pretty china and a lovely Victoria TeaTime Bliss magazine.

Taking tea can be a pleasant interlude, paired with tasty foods or simply sipped piping hot from your finest bone-china cup. ~ Victoria TeaTime Bliss magazine

I favour this room in my home because it is always flooded with sunlight on a day like this. During the month of February, the sun is higher in the sky and one can see the days getting longer. Very shortly we will be able to enjoy dinner without turning the lights on. I am most anxious for spring to arrive.

I always enjoy this magazine because it is about all things tea. Lovely photos and recipes throughout. And quotes; you know how much I like quotes!

Tea today is Earl Grey.

As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common, everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful.

They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness -
just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breathe it;
just the warmth and shelter and home folks;
just plain food that gives us strength;
the bright sunshine on a cold day, and a cool breeze when the day is warm. ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder

Thank you for your visit today. I am starting to get to the bottom of some of my ailments and in another month or so I should have a better idea of what is going on with this body of mine. I do know for certain that surgery is in my future.

Wishing you all a delightful weekend and stay cozy, dear friends!

  2. Dear Sandi:
    Your table does look full of sunshine today which I know is welcomed on your sunny island. I have seen so little snow this winter. I saw 3 flakes in the air earlier which don't account for much right? Your teapot is really pretty and those are the wonderful new colors that are adored! Thanks for sharing.

  9. I'm loving your gorgeous new teapot, Sandi! It matches perfectly with your pretty teacups. I'm also looking forward to spring and the longer days. I hope that the medical investigations will give you the answers that you're looking for.

    The 24 reboot, 24: Legacy, is premiering after the Superbowl anymore. Even though there's no Jack Bauer, I may tune in just to see what it's about...

  12. How sweet that your gift-giver graced you with another gift since the beautiful birds got broken! I just love the new teapot, anything roses and floral is glorious! I would love to share a cup of tea with you in those lovely teacups! It is wonderful that the days are getting longer, spring indeed is near, although today it is snowing heavily here, which I do love the snow, and it feels so cozy inside.

    I'm so sorry to hear of all the medical issues you are having. I pray for you, that the doctors will be able to figure out what is wrong and help you get back on the path to healing, and back to doing all you love to do.

    Enjoyed your tea quotes today, especially Laura Ingalls Wilder one. What a lovely magazine to get full of tea bliss.

    Have a blessed Sunday my friend, may the sweet presence of the Lord be with you! :)

  15. I almost bought a tea pot just like that. I've seen it several times, I may end up with it yet! So pretty.

  16. What a beautiful tea pot! I have not read the Victoria Tea Time magazine, so I'll have to try it out. I do subscribe to the regular Victoria magazine, and in February's issue, they did a gorgeous spread in the style of Marie Antoinette. It got me thinking that I might just like to pull out all of my most beautiful tea items and re-create it! Hope you are doing better.

  19. Lovely new teapot. My favorite is the pink and gold teacup -- just love that combination. I've been wanting to buy some roses lately, but don't want to upstage my husband in case he's planning something next week ;)
    I do pray that your medical issues can be figured out, and a good plan in place to help you. Sorry you will need surgery, but praying for a good outcome, and that you will feel much better. Keep us posted. xo Deborah
