No Place Like Home
The beauty of the home is order;
The blessing of the home is contentment;
The glory of the home is hospitality;
The crown of the home is godliness. ~ Author unknown
Welcome my lovely friends and Happy Victoria Day to all my Canadian friends! I hope everyone is enjoying their first long weekend of the summer.
We had a lovely but very busy weekend here on the Island. Over the weekend I posted about Queen Victoria and other members of the royal family.
If you missed that post you may click here to visit. Of course, we had tea as well.
Last week's party served up a plethora of wonderful ideas, gardens and recipes. They were all marvellous and thank you so much for sharing. You are a wonderfully talented group of ladies and I am honoured that you link up to my party!
ANNOUNCEMENT concerning my upcoming blog parties for the summer months.
I consider every post you link up to be special and I am always thrilled to have you join my party. However, it takes a lot of time and effort to feature special posts. Sometimes it takes several hours to get them ready for my party. My life is about to get busier than usual and I don't have the extra time right now to be sitting in front of the computer.
So, beginning the first of June I will no longer be featuring special posts. My party will go on as usual but the special features will not.
Once summer is over and everything is back to normal again, perhaps I will resume the features once a month. I hope you all understand and will continue to link up to No Place Like Home. I love having you participate every week.
Now on to the posts that caught my eye from last week's party:
Fabby @ Fabby's Living shared a lovely Tea Time and Tablescape. She also shared her Old Fashioned Angel cake recipe that I know you will want to try.
Kitty @ Kitty's Kozy Kitchen shared a pretty tea time outside by her fountain with a scrumptious strawberry pie and recipe too.
Martha @ Lines from Linderhof shared how simply replacing an older chair with a newer found one can make a lovely difference in one's decor.
Pat @ French Country Style shared her lovely spring garden with us. I can't wait for my Bleeding Hearts to spring up!
Actually there were several gardening posts I could have featured but then my posting would be too long.
Thank you everyone for participating last week. As a courtesy, it would be nice if you would have a link back to my party so that others may find their way here.
Now let's see what you are creating in your home to make it a cozy place to come home to for your family, your friends, and yourself.
Lord, this humble house we'd keep
Sweet with play and calm with sleep.
Help us so that we may give
Beauty to the lives we live.
Let Thy love and let Thy grace
Shine upon our dwelling place. - Edgar A. Guest

Thanks for hosting the fun and have a nice week. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi and thanks so much for featuring my Bleeding Hearts post. And I totally understand how much effort goes into selecting these features. It's quite a time commitment. I'll continue to link to your party this summer. I hope you take time to relax and enjoy the lovely weather. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteSandi,
ReplyDeleteNo worries about not including features!! Remember we blog about our lives and NOT live to blog so all will be fine, my friend!! Thanks so much for hosting and for visiting!!
Hugs,
Deb
I can understand about being busy, Sandi. Enjoy your summer. Your post about Queen Victoria and the royal family is very interesting. Thanks for hosting...Christine
ReplyDeleteHappy Victoria Day, sweet Sandi! I so enjoyed reading your post on Tea with the Royals. Thank you for honoring me by featuring my strawberry pie by my waterfall. We certainly understand the time it takes it doing all the features, and how it's more important to enjoy your free time, especially in the summer months on PEI. Thank you for hosting your lovely party. We so appreciate you! Love and hugs are sent your way.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi! Glad to hear you will be giving yourself a little break this summer. The warm weather is fleeting there, so you want to take advantage of it! Thank you for hosting. Blessings, Deborah
ReplyDeleteHappy Victoria Day Sandi! I am so glad that you left me a comment that reminded me how close we are to Memorial Day....have to get my flowers ready! I think it's a wonderful idea for you to cut back on blogging during the summer ....take advantage of the warm weather...hugs...
ReplyDeleteThe royals are always so interesting! Thanks for sharing the Victoria Day. My your island must be beautiful this time of year! We took a trip to the Hill Country by Austin and San Antonio, Texas. We bought Wedgwood China at the Wedgwood outlet in San Marcos! My husband can now travel so life is good! Thanks for hosting your great party for I always look forward to Monday!
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Pam
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI understand how time consuming blogging is and I am amazed at how long you have been able to comment to me and everyone else and have a linky party for so many years. I am also finding very little time for blogging lately and if I want to have my gardens looking kept it is difficult to do it all. Your features are lovely. Have a Wonderful week! Blessings, Karen
Its why I stopped by link party, really take a lot of time...Life should be about living not about blogging. Summer comes and goes to fast to miss it.
ReplyDeleteI like to read about the royal family, thanks for the informative report.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party, Sandi, very happy I'm back here.
Summer is always such a busy time and we all need to enjoy it while it's here. There are only so many hours in the day so it isn't always possible to fit in all that we'd like to. Glad you had a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteOf course you should give yourself a brake for the summer, it's such a short and wonderful season my friend. I am so lucky and honored to be featured in a party I love as much as the wonderful hostess with the moistest that you are.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to link to the party today, but don't see the widget.
Have a great week sweetie.
FABBY
Oh boy! I'm sorry, it appeared, lol..
ReplyDeleteI love the post about Queen Victoria. I so love the English royals. Beautiful images and post dear Sandi.
Love,
FABBY
Happy Victoria Day! Even though we don't celebrate it in the US, it's a perfect reason to have a tea party.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are planning to savor all of the delights of summer and take a step back from posting the special features. While I always look forward to reading them, I can imagine how time consuming the process is.
Take care and thanks for hosting,
Nora
Sandi, I have missed your blog parties and posts. I've just returned to real blogging and look forward to more loveliness at Rose Chintz Cottage.

ReplyDeleteHello Sandi. Happy belated Victoria Day... I understand about wanting to have more time to enjoy the warmer months instead of sitting in front of the computer. I plan to do the same.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting each week.
