A New Teacup for Tea Time

“All in all, it was a never-to-be-forgotten summer - one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going - one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful friends and delightful doing, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world.” ~ L.M. Montgomery- 'Anne's House of Dreams'

Welcome to Tea Time everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your summer. We have been very busy this summer with company and a trip to New Brunswick. Taking advantage of the awesome weather we're having too.

We had a wonderful visit with our middle son and had such beautiful weather too so we were able to spend time at the beach which he enjoys as much as we do.

He gifted me with a new computer including a new HD monitor and I am still trying to work out the kinks. Learning a whole new system is fairly intimidating and I am still unsure of where to find everything. I am certainly not computer savvy. He showed me a great deal but has gone back home to BC so I'm on my own now. It's sad when my boys leave. *sigh*

This post today I had prepared ahead of time which is a good thing. I had hoped to add more to it like more photos of my rainbow roses and pictures of my teacups but that didn't happen. Hopefully by next week, I will be more comfortable using this so we'll see how it goes.

Today I am sharing my newest teacup; a lovely Paragon in soft yellow with pink posies inside.

Isn't she pretty?

I found this beauty at an antique shop about a month ago. I have tried to find some info on it but there doesn't seem to be much. Perhaps Ruth knows a little about it.

It goes wonderfully well with my other yellow teacup. You have all seen this pretty Royal Albert Shaftesbury before. It is part of the Festival Series.

While visiting my cousin Val in NB, I admired a bunch of these little antique silver tea spoons that she found at a thrift shop.

She gave me one and I brought it home and shined it up. It is made by Simeon L. and George H. Rogers Company. Isn't it sweet? Do you collect little spoons?

Two pretty sunny teacups invite you to the tea table. May I pour you some tea?

Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.

Thank you for visiting. Hubby and I are at the beach right now so I will get around for my visits a little later. I wish you a splendid day filled with joy and sunny skies. God bless you!

  2. It's always exciting to find a new teacup and the pastel yellow of your new Paragon does go well with the RA cup and saucer. I'm confident that Ruth will have some info for you, the woman is a wealth of knowledge. :-)
Learning the ropes on a new computer or even an OS can be exasperating and I hope you have everything running smoothly soon Sandi.
Enjoy your day at the beach!

  3. Hi Sandi. Will be back to link when your linky opens up. I had internet provider problems this week, so I know what you mean! But how lovely to have a new computer! I love the teacups, and thanks for your faith in me about info...but not much about that one..it was never a named pattern, just a number which will probably be hand painted in a slapdash fashion on the cup underside...although sometimes not even that. But the mark dates it to 1953 thru the early 1960s because that's a Royal Warrant for Queen Elizabeth II, but the word Regd for Registered was dropped 1965-1966. So at least the dating is pretty easy! Hope that helps! So glad you had a wonderful holiday and time with family...doesn't it feel empty and quiet when the leave again...sigh..Thanks for hosting...I'll be back when you are open you are open to link.

  12. Pretty new find . I wish I had kept all my mums tea cups , saucers, spoons and what not as she had a huge collection of all sorts from England she collected over the years and brought with her when she moved here to Ontario but back then I wasn't interested in the tea cups and what not but I am now a days I know I could kick myself for not keeping them . Oh that was lovely of your son to get you a new computer . I am glad you had a nice visit with your boys . Thanks for sharing lovely photos . Have a good week !

  18. Sandi:
I am just arriving now as our internet service ceased suddenly last week. They had told us it would continue at our home even though we canceled it at the store. Don't you just love it! Anyway. I did enjoy scanning this post about your lovely new teacup and saucer. I hope you are having a wonderful summer. It is going so fast for us as we have had so much to do. We have a contract on our building and hope to close the end of October which is wonderful.

  24. Your new teacup is so pretty, Sandi! And it does go well with your RA!

I love demitasse spoons. I have three sets: antique silverplate, new-but-made-to-look vintage gold-metallic plate and a set of simple modern ss - which i use most often.

They're the perfect size for delicatge teacups. :- )

Sorry I have been so MIA and not finding time to play with tea time - life has been crazy busy.

    Hugs.
