I'm so thankful for friendship. It beautifies life so much.~ LM Montgomery - Anne of Avonlea
Hello friends and welcome to the last Tea Time Tuesday in February!
I must admit I'm glad this month is coming to an end because the weather has been simply atrocious here on Prince Edward Island. The schools have been closed for over a week because of the mountains of snow we have. Thankfully, Spring is less than a month away. Yay!!
And since it is still February, I am using my Royal Albert Flower of the Month ~ February Violets teacup for tea today.
This beautiful teacup was a house warming gift from Hubby's aunt many years ago. I cherish it as she is no longer with us.
Do you think amethysts can be the souls of
good violets? ~ LM Montgomery - Anne of Green Gables
This teacup sprinkled with violets is made by Grace China.
The vintage spoon below was a gift from a dear blogger friend. It has the letter 'S' engraved on the handle and she thought I would like it. She was right!

If a kiss could be seen I think it would look like a violet.~ LM Montgomery - Anne of Avonlea
I do love lace and so I am using a Battenburg lace table topper beneath it all.
I visited Martha's blog Lines from Linderhof the other day and she had mentioned they had a bread pudding at the Tea she had attended. I have been craving bread pudding ever since so naturally I had to make some.
This bread pudding is made with raisin bread and cream cheese; comfort food for these cold February days.
Served warm with maple syrup from my little French white pitcher, it is a real treat.
A view of the table. The sun streaming in made it very pretty and my camera doesn't do it justice.
Thank you for stopping by for Tea Time today. I hope your day is special and your dreams are filled with violets. The Lord bless you!

Good morning Sandi! You have been getting terrible weather! And here it's unseasonably mild. Of course you know I love your violets and pansies...so perfect for this month! Thanks so much for hosting!

I am just enjoying a cup of tea while reading your post. My tea is in a mug, nothing as fancy as yours. You have certainly been hit with a lot of snow this year in PEI. My friend sent me some photos from Charlottetown and it is awful Here in Southern Ontario it is the bitter cold than has been awful.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder I like all things purple as this is my birth month. I've always had amethyst jewelry and have a few violet pieces of china but nothing like your gorgeous teapot Sandi.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting our gathering and spring really is on the way to melt your mountains of snow!
Your pansies and violets are just what's needed for this rainy dreary day! Oh that bread pudding would be so good with my tea today. Thanks for your lovely reminder of Spring!
ReplyDeleteAll of your violet dishes are so pretty, Sandi, and I so enjoyed seeing them. You share the prettiest teas for us to enjoy. The spoon with your initial is gorgeous. It's so nice to use pretty things that others have given us, isn't it? Thank you for hosting our last tea for the month of February. I hope your weather improves soon. We had an ice storm overnight and schools are closed today, even in Texas!
ReplyDeleteI have already set up my little table presentation but now I need to grab the camera. I was thinking like you and will be doing violets (pansies another day). I love your pretty springlike photos which beckon us into another season. Your little bird is so cheery! Another wonderful posting Sandi!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful tea! I always love Anne's quotes too.

Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your Sweet Violets for Tea. You and Bernideen were thinking alike this week. Your February teacup is so lovely. I have just started collecting Royal Albert's Teacups of the Month but haven't found this one. It really is elegant. Thank you for hosting Tea Time. It is always such a pleasure to visit you each week! Happy Tea Day! Karen
So beautiful, Sandi! Violets and pansies speak of spring, for sure. We have mountains of snow as well, and cold temps with high winds making for severe wind chill warnings for tonight. So nice to think about spring on a day like today!
ReplyDeleteYou have some really pretty tea cups , saucers and tea pots . Nothing like a cuppa tea and sweet treat . Thanks for sharing , Have a good week !
ReplyDeleteOh you know I love both violets and pansies!! What a beautiful table you set. And the bread pudding sounds awfully good. Sorry you are having so much snow. We are getting the awful cold but so far the snow has been manageable. I will always think of the intense green of PEI and the red clay.... so hard for me to imagine all that snow..... Love LMM's saying about Spring... so so true.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I'll be able to link up, but til then I'll enjoy everyone else's tea parties!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think if the writer you're having I just shudder. The news is alarming now that flood alerts are being announced. I hope you stay warm and dry and safe!
Your table looks so lovely! I really like the Royal Albert flower of the month teacups. I only have the December one, but I'm feeling inspired to collect all of them. Sending warm wishes of better weather headed your way. Thanks for hosting.

ReplyDeleteAnd, of course, you will be sharing that bread pudding recipe with us later on, correct????? I love the one picture where the sun is shining on the bread pudding, highlighting it. Those are beautiful tea cups, saucers and pots - who is the tea pot by?
ReplyDeleteThe teapot is made by Allison L.L. It is the only piece of china I own made by that manufacturer. It is pretty, isn't it? Thanks for your visit.

Sandi,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!! Your Hubby is lucky that he could work inside. That clerks are a different Union than the letter carriers so Joe is not able to do that. I can only imagine how tough it would be delivering the mail where you live.
Joe is truly counting the days until he can retire and he will only have next Winter and hopefully, will retire in Jan. of 2017.
Stay warm and safe, my friend!!
Hugs,
Deb

ReplyDeleteOne month to go Sandi and springtime. Can't wait too. I'm dreaming of green on the trees and flowers blooming and no jackets or boots and frigid temps. Only one more month. Wishing you a gentle and beautiful rest of the weekend.
