Violets and Spring Flowers for Tea Time

"It is spring again.
The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart." ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Welcome friends to Tea Time!
I am seeing small changes around our property and even though signs of winter still linger about, this wondrous, magical and childlike season of rebirth is here.

No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn. ~ Hal Borland

Tea time is me time, a time to savour and reflect. It's a time to share a cup with friends, a time of  comfort, camaraderie, and closeness. ~ Sandi W.

I set up a small tea table in front of the window and I am using my Sadler "Spring Crocus" teapot. This lovely teapot is covered in spring posies; daffodils, crocuses, irises, violets, etc.. I love how it has flowers on both sides, the handle, the top, and the spout.

And a Royal Albert Violets teacup.

Yes, it's February, one of their Flowers of the Month teacups, but I won't tell anyone if you won't.

There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea. ~ Bernard-Paul Heroux

I'm having a cup of David's Pumpkin Chai tea. It is really an Autumn tea but I like the spice all year round. It is a black tea with cinnamon, cloves, lemon peel, squash, carrot, caramel, and pumpkin candies....Delicious!

Tea and ginger snaps.

A sunny shot in front of the window.
I am delighted you have stopped by for tea today! Do you have a teacup or coffee mug to share? How about a teapot or tablescape? A visit to a Tea Room is always welcome too. Please share them with us and I will be happy to visit you.

Hope you don't have a miserable snow event! We are supposed to hit 60s today...then a week of rain. Thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

  7. The teapot is charming, and I just threw out faded tulips of the same colour.
We must be connected across the miles as I'm drinking David's pumpkin chai as I peruse the tea party. I had frozen a chunk of Christmas fruit cake and had it this afternoon with my tea.
Thanks for hosting, and have a good week Sandi.
    Hugs.

  20. I feel so badly Sandi, because there isn't a single pretty tea cup round here. I even looked in town for some pretty cup, but no luck. I'll just have to have tea vicariously thru you and share in your lovely violet cup till I get back to my collection. :)

  22. Hello Sandi,
We are lucky to see so many violet tea cups lately. Your is so very lovely. The tea pot you are using to day is stunning with all the beautiful flowers. I have one similar from Sadler, but yours is a softer shape. Perfect tea pots for spring! Yay!
I love that color of tulip you have today. Tulips are just so cheery!
I hope you are doing well, and that you are having a great spring.
    Hugs,
    Terri

  23. What a glorious tea pot. The tulips are lovely. We are still quite cold, in the twenties, and I am struggling to be in the Spring spirit. I have been using a little violet teacup in my office. They are such hopeful flowers. Delicate yet enduring. They come up in the lawn (such as it is) and no matter how much they are trod upon around here they are back every year. Thanks for hosting! It is always a pleasure.

  27. I love how you greet with beautiful setting. Right now I am madly in love with your curtains and on the hunt for some. I wish I'd kept my older ones (*sigh*). I love looking at other people's tea pots and settings - such beauty!

  28. I just love that Spring teapot, with its violets, tulip, primula and iris. I think it has inspired to linger in the flower area when I go to the grocery store later today, and choose some tulips or primroses or hyacinth or something. Isn't that what's called for this time of year? Oh, yes, that and a pot of tea and ginger snaps too!

  29. Sandi! Your teapot has warmed my heart on this cold day where I live - with nary a flower blooming as of yet. Love the lushness of the artwork - and it looks like there's plenty of room in there for multiple cuppas! Violets and Royal Albert - no matter what month it is, you can't go wrong there. A lovely event with your sun streaking in - delightful!
    Joy!

P.S. Hope you'll link something bright and beautiful with me this week as I celebrate three years blogging and my new monthly linky!

  30. Dear Sandi,
I hope spring is coming soon to you. We have it now with flowers and birds singing and all the problems seem a bit smaller than in winter. Your tea table honors spring with the beautiful Sadler tea pot. And the Violets tea cup is a perfect match. We have blooming violets in the meadows. I try to make some things with them for the upcoming posts. I really enjoyed your spring tea time. Thank you so much for hosting this sweet party, which is always a delight.
    Best greetings, Johanna

  32. What a pretty table you have set. I think you will really enjoy hot tea if it is as snowy there as you say. It seems strange - we may have 70 degrees tomorrow here. Keep warm! I hope you don't loose power.
