Happy New Year and welcome to my HOME, lovely friends!

"Our home is filled with warmth and love,
Prayers and gifts from heaven above.
Please bless these things that we love best,
O dear Lord, please bless our nest." ~ Veronica Curtis

As some of you may know, I have been away visiting family out on the west coast for the holidays and meeting my little granddaughter.

What a fabulous time we had! I not only celebrated Christmas but also a birthday while I was there.

And what a warm welcome back to Blogland many of you have given me, thank you!

Since returning home on Sunday night, I have been having some  issues with posting new photos on my blog, so I have had to use photos from past posts. I am glad I had some available which were suitable for sharing with you today. Hopefully I will get this issue sorted out shortly because I have so many things to share with you.

"But what on earth is half so dear-
So longed for- as the hearth of home? ~ Emily Bronte

When Hubby and I were first married, I was anxious to try out all sorts of recipes and one which had been a favourite and still is, is Cinnamon Blossoms.

These are wonderful with a cup of something hot, as a treat for family or company.

Cinnamon Blossoms

Use your basic tea biscuit recipe. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Snip each biscuit almost to the center to give five petals. Dip the tops into melted butter and then a mixture of sugar and spices. I opted to brush the tops with melted butter as it's less messy.

Mix 1/3 cup brown or white sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Place a quarter of a marachino cherry or candied cherry in the center of each blossom  and bake for 12-14 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 400 degrees. Makes about 15 blossoms. Enjoy!

  6. Hi Sandi, I almost forgot about your link party today so I have added my post to it. I have heard of many bloggers who are having difficulty loading pictures but some are saying if you have Picasa it's not a problem. I do have Picasa and haven't had any problem loading pictures at all. I don't know what the connection would be. Your cinnamon flower biscuits look delicious. Thanks for sharing your recipe today. Blessings to you. Pamela

  16. Hi Sandi,
Happy Birthday, got the pictures on finally,
going to copy what Sandra sent me
when you click on new post or edit an already existing post, you'll see "html" on the upper left of the page and beside it"compose". If you click on html, you'll then see a picture icon and can add from there (it will be html so you will see a bunch of letter/symbols) After you add your picture, click o compose then you'll see your picture as usual and can type your post from there. It worked for me, a little jumpy and lost it a couple of times, but got it finally. Hope it helps you.

  17. Sandi:

The roses cups and saucers you show here - isn't that Old English Rose...it was actually you and Angela who collect that and I was thinking of you both as I saw 8 dessert plates at the Brass Armadilla in Denver in that pattern. They were $10.00 each.
