Tea On the Deck for Tea Time Tuesday

"Then followed that beautiful season... Summer...
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape, Lay as if created in all the freshness of childhood." ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Welcome friends to my last Tea Time Tuesday in the month of June! Where did the month go? It's as though it hopped on fairies wings and flitted away....

Speaking of flying away, my youngest son flew to Paris on Saturday night. What a life that boy leads! He was in Paris this time last year too, and he is at this very minute, in Provence, France, at a Math conference....

Can you imagine gazing at fields of lavender like these, Judith?

One can dream!

My tea today is a rather simple one out on the back deck. It is a beautiful sunny day and I am happy to have gotten a few shots outside for a change.

The rose bushes are just loaded with blooms right now and one must have flowers to grace the tea table. These roses were freshly cut from my bushes this morning. They are old-fashioned roses called Theresa Bugnet. They look like peonies, they are so full and lush, and their scent is heavenly!

"Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful; for beauty is God's handwriting - a wayside sacrament. Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower, and thank God for it as a cup of blessing." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

A cookie and a wee bit of fruit, a cup of tea in a pretty teacup, and another Laura Childs Tea Shop Mystery, Chamomile Mourning....

Some fresh fruit - Blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries sitting on a pretty vintage saucer....

Tea Tip ~ When serving tea, why not serve food which will enhance the flavour of the tea. Example: Spicy scones or a nut bread generously spread with cream cheese and chutney would be splendid with Darjeeling tea.

My teacup....

This is a Royal Chelsea teacup that I found last Summer at an antique shop. It is made in England, and I love the warm peachy colour with the array of lovely flowers decorating the inside of the cup.

It sits on a pedestal which is trimmed in a gold band.

Isn't it pretty? I find the split gold trim quite unique.

I am sipping Ginger Peach tea with a very thankful heart today. Thankful for so many things.... Family, friends, summertime, and something I have been praying for for months was answered today. God is good!

Would you care to join me for a quiet and relaxing tea with the sound of birdsong in the background? I do love bird-chirping weather, don't you?

I wonder what kind of sounds my son is listening to right now. Most likely a professor giving a lecture on Math!

"Simply sitting barefoot on an old back porch, while having a round of tea, is one of the purest pleasures of life." ~ Unknown

And dreaming of Provence....

I am planning yet another special tea party for July 9th ~ An Anne of Green Gables Tea. You are welcome to take the tea button for your post or sidebar if you wish.

Do you love Anne of Green Gables? I don't know too many who don't love the red headed orphan from Prince Edward Island.

Living on the Island affords me easy access to anything pertaining to our darling heroine. Perhaps you have some Anne inspired tea things, or maybe just some green and white. Perhaps you found a new teacup or pot at a yard sale which you would like to share with us. I would love to see them if you do. So please mark your calendars for July 9th and join me for an Anne of Green Gables Tea.

This tea party is going to be a little different from my usual party. It will be a type of Progressive Tea Party as there will be a special menu and a special link to your tea post on my own tea post if you choose a goodie from the menu to share on your Anne of Green Gables Tea postI will share more about that next week, so stay tuned!

Have a delightful day everyone and I look forward to visiting you.

I am happy to see all your tea things, whether you have shared them before or not. This tea party is all about sharing your joy of tea time and any thoughts you might have on the subject. And for the summer months, I would love to see your teacups and teapots indoors as well as out in the garden, at the beach, on a park bench, etc... Also I would enjoy seeing your teacup and teapot crafts as well as recipes and any stories you might have to share about tea time. So, let's have fun this summer with our teas. Get out there and be as creative, fancy, or as laid back as you wish!

"Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning." ~ Lamentations 3:23

I am delighted you have stopped by for a visit today. Your presence always make my tea party that much more special! Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug that you would like to share with us today? I would love to see it and I'm sure others would too!

If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too:
Hot Apple Cider
Hot Chocolate
Lemonade
Iced Tea or Iced Coffee
Punch in a lovely bowl.
No alcoholic beverages please.

The Tea Time Tuesday button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! To be sure everyone has a visit, it would be nice if you visited the participant before and after your name.

Inlinkz is available below for you to sign up for my tea party.

As a courtesy, please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

I am joining the following parties as well~

  1. Hi Sandi! My you certainly have the most beautiful tea cups! The roses are exquisite.Your posts inspire me so much. Perhaps one of these times I can share a special memory of a tea at our church with my Mother-In-Law. The church would have the loveliest tea every Spring. It is the only way I even knew of the loveliness of such delightful activities! I journaled and scrapboked the loveliness and even decorated a bulletin board at the church of pictures of all of the beautiful tables! ANyway, hmmm...you have me thinking of sharing. My MIL gave me a set of teacups that I love ...I also have a set with a pot from my Great AUnt and Uncle. But that is it...someday I will try to create a beautiful post to share with you...I love all you share. Thank you, Sandi! You are a blessing!

And I noticed you showed a copy of Laura Childs tea mystery book, Chamomile Mourning. I have all those books plus the ones about the scrapbook store in New Orleans.

    See you next week!

  15. Hi Sandi
How I wish that was me frolicking in the fields of lavender, picking huge armfuls...sigh.
Your roses are pretty and I can imagine the scent while sitting on your deck for tea with you. One day.
We've had good rain the last couple of days but sunny skies ahead as we travel north for our grandson's high school graduation.

  16. What a simple and lovely wonderful tea you have shared with us, Sandi!

This day has been SO busy and now it is nearly 9pm and the day is gone - and I took no pics of tea to share this week....tomorrow I may be able to but my daughters are coming over, we have fun plans!

Hope to, if not I will be back, I promise!

LOVE peach tea in the summer, yum!

  17. It would be so delightful to sit on your deck with you and enjoy a pleasant conversation over tea. Alas! I am in Florida, and we are having Tropical Storm "Debby" visiting with us for a few days, so there will be no deck or patio sitting for me. I will enjoy the view from your deck in my mind. I hope that I can join you on July 9th for the Anne of Green Gables tea party...that should be wonderful! I see that is a Monday, and as I will be working, I will have to have my tea party early.
Thank you for this breath of fresh air today! I can almost smell the roses from here!

  34. Hi Sandi! Simply lovely teatime today with you! Love those incredible roses - alas! My roses have come and gone. I am hopeful for new blooms soon, though! However, much ado in my front garden as my post today will update you on that score. Plenty of tea things today, too.

BUT - by far the most exciting thing has to be your Anne of Green Gables tea! I am swirling with ideas and making a list already of what to collect around my house to the purpose! LOVE our Lucy Maud and Anne's world. So much of her fancifulness is so very me . . . she made me feel that I was not so alone after all.

    Joy!
