Can Anybody Help Me?

Good morning blogging friends~

Do you find the word verification thingy time consuming and difficult to read? Last night it took me three tries before I finally got it right on someone's blog.

I don't want it on my own blog.  Can someone please tell me how to turn off the word verification thingy? I can't find it. Thanks for your help.

  1. Good Morning. I started at DASHBOARD. Go to SETTINGS. Then COMMENTS. Then SHOW WORD VERIFICATION FOR COMMENTS. Now you can make the decision to use word verify or not.

I dropped the word verification thing a while back - it was taking me 'forever' to comment on the blogs I love and so I thought I could help the folks who comment on mine. This latest change with all the blurry, squiggillely (yes, I know that's not a real word but I can't think of another way to describe it!) verification words is nuts. Or maybe I need stronger glasses. Have a great weekend.

  2. Hi Sandi, C. Joy is right but you have to use the old user interface instead of the new one! Have a great day!

  3. I just tried to find this Sandi and I have the new interface and it's not there. I disabled the word verifiation before I changed over to the new interface. I wonder how I get back to the old interface? I hope you can do it. I too find it annoying and a lot of other blogs I follow are talking about it. All the best. Pam

  5. Hello Sandi, I am still using the old interface - so, c. Joy's advice is helpful. I have been having more spam mail lately and was considering switching to word verification for a short while. Don't you just wish people would be nice online! I hope you're able to get the answer you need!
    Hugs,

  6. I don't like it either! The way Joy described it is the way I did mine. Good luck!

  11. I quite agree with you. I'm getting so I'm considering not leaving comments on sites that require it. It's just such a lot of work; I've kept changing the "gotcha" till I think I have one I'm seeing correctly. But to check if I'm a robot, wouldn't the spam checker work? If it doesn't, why do they have it?

I am delighted to have you visit me and I read every comment. Please forgive me for not being able to visit you all as there are so many of you lovely bloggy friends now. I will visit as much as possible. I wish you a day filled with JOY!

Also, due to the amount of spam I've been getting, I have had to set Comment Moderation. ~ Sandi
