Urgent Prayer Request

Good morning everyone~ Yesterday I received news from my cousin Cynthia. Her husband Jim, who is suffering with brain cancer, has been having terrible headaches, and they found out yesterday that one of the tumors has grown and now there is a third one. They will treat him with more chemo, pills, and will try to keep him as comfortable as possible. They are hoping that they can keep him around for Christmas!

My heart just breaks for them both. I have never actually met Jim but I have known my cousin Cynthia my whole life. She is the daughter of my Christian aunt to whom I am very close.

If I have learned anything in this life, it is to savour every moment we have with our loved ones. Life is too short!
I would really appreciate your prayers for Jim and Cynthia at this time. Unless the Lord intervenes and brings a healing to Jim's body, Cynthia may not her hubby for very much longer.
Thank you all and the Lord bless you.

Sharing from my heart~ Sandi

  7. Sandi, my heart goes out to the both of them. The holidays are such a hard time, to even think about loosig someone. Cancer can not and will not take their hearts, their spirits, and their love away. I stand firm in my beliefs that the Lord has a plan for us all, we do not suffer because of our Lord, we merely were given the chance to live for a short time here on earth. My heart and my thoughts, and most defintaley my prayers will be with Jim and Cynthia, they have been on my prayer request since the first day I met you. I will pray for you as well, its not easy, stand strong, and just lean on the Lord. God bless you all through out the holidays.

    Hugs, and blessings,
    Heidi

    Dear Lord,
You know my friend/Sandie and her cousin Cynthia, and husband jim, so much better than I do. You know his sickness and the burden he carries. You also know his heart. Lord, I ask you to be with Jim now, working in his life. Let your will be done in Jim's life. Lord, I pray for Jim because your Word says I should pray for his healing. I believe you hear this earnest prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you to heal Jim, but I also trust in the plan you have for his life. Lord, I don't always understand your ways, and why Jim has to suffer, but I trust you. I ask that you look with mercy and grace toward Jim. Nourish his spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort him with your presence. Let Jim know you are there with him through this difficulty. And may you be glorified in his life and also in mine.
    Amen

  15. Sandi, I will certainly say a prayer for him. My husband had a brain tumor removed last year, so I have a little inside knowledge of what he is going through. Although we were very fortunate, they knew before he had surgery his was a benign, manageable tumor.

You may want to look into the work they are doing at the Cleveland Clinic on gene therapy and brain cancer/tumors. I just saw a story on the news about this and if it's the right kind of tumor they have had great success with shrinking them.

I know when my husband was sick the internet was an incredible resource for information.

    Big hug!
    Shelley
