A Happy Pink Saturday & A Giveaway

'Morning everyone & Happy Pink Saturday!
We've had a beautiful sunny week here on the Island and Hubby and I are really enjoying our 'staycation.' We have stayed here for most of the three weeks we have been on vacation but we did venture off Island for a few days to visit family. We always feel the Island is so beautiful, why would anyone want to leave it this time of year? We have everything one could want right here!

Today I would like to share with you, my carafe. It has pink flowers on it and I fill it up with hot coffee and take it to the beach with us. The carafe is a little beat up because it has been well used. But that is what it is for, right?
There's nothing like sipping a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee early in the morning on one of our beautiful beaches! We set up our beach chairs and sink our toes into the soft warm sand and listen to the sound of the waves lapping on the shore. Life is sweet on Prince Edward Island and we feel very blessed to live here!

The beach we went to the other day is on the south shore of the Island and the sand there is almost pink. Basin Head is known for its 'white' sand and it sings when you walk on it. Really lovely! It is actually called 'Singing sands.' This is just a little peek. I will show you more pictures another day. I brought a little sand home with me and compared it to the sand on the north shore. The sand from the south shore is on the right. Do you see the difference? It is lighter in colour and it is almost pink! Now, on to my Giveaway............I just posted my 200th post a couple of weeks ago and I would like to celebrate it with a Giveaway. As I have been the recipient of several giveaways myself, I wanted to have another giveaway of my own to celebrate my milestone in blogging.

One of the great pleasures of blogging is 'meeting' such wonderful bloggy friends and I have compiled a variety of little treasures from our famous Island and put them together just for you.

There is a copy of the Anne of Green Gables book, a notepad, an Anne of Green Gables tin, and a package of Anne of Green Gables table napkins.

I also have a lacey wall hanging with one of my favourite scriptures on it.
On the cover of this book, Anne has a pink frock on underneath her white pinafore. The little notebook's cover is an actual print from artwork by a local artist, Charlene Williams. It is the perfect size for your handbag.

This Anne of Green Gables tin has some pink flowers on it although they are hard to see here. The table napkins are designed on Prince Edward Island by George and Maureen Campbell, relatives of Lucy Maude Montgomery, author of Anne of Green Gables. The napkins are from the Kindred Spirits Collection and are a reproduction of another painting by Island artist Dale McNevin. The lace wall hanging bears the scripture verse from Philippians 4:8. "Whatever things are lovely.....think on these things." There are some pink flowers adorning this wall hanging. All of these goodies are little things I picked up while on holidays here on the Island.
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and you will be entered into the Giveaway. If you take my Giveaway button and post it on your blog linking back to me, I will enter your name twice. Please let me know if you posted the button on your blog! That's all there is to it! I will draw the name on the evening of Friday the 14th and post the winner's name next Saturday on Pink Saturday.
Now, please go visit our wonderful hostess Beverly by clicking on the link http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ or the Pink Saturday button on my sidebar. There are lots of pinkies with lots of pinkness for you to enjoy.
Because I am still on vacation, this will be my last post until next Saturday's Pink Saturday when I will reveal the winner of my Giveaway. Meanwhile, have a safe and wonderful week everyone.

NOTE: My mother got home from the hospital on Thursday. She is still recuperating and it will be a while before she has regained all of her strength. I want to thank you all for your caring and your prayers! I know that it is because of all the prayer that has gone up on her behalf that she has done as well as she has! The Lord bless each and every one of you!

Smiles & hugs,
Sandi

  12. Sandi, I really enjoyed your post today! I was sitting here looking longingly at the beautiful beach and told my hubby (who's sitting here drinking coffee) that we really need to take our vacation one year and visit the island. Of course, I love Anne of Green Gables and watched the shows every week when they were on. Beautiful scenery!

Glad to hear your mom is home and I'll continue to keep her in my prayers.

  14. You live on PEI? How lucky are you! The Anne of Green Gables series has always been on my list of favorites. The island is described so beautifully in the books too. I can't believe the sand varies in color so much, very interesting. Congrats on your 200th post and Happy Pink Saturday!

  15. OK. I posted button successfully. I am not sure the proper way to do that. I got to photoshop and save the picture. Then I go to customize, add a picture -and add the link from your blog. Is that thee usual way? I know most people don't do photoshop so I know there is an easier way and would appreciate knowing...

  36. Oh lucky you to be visiting the beach and spending a wonderful summer. We have had two typhoons in two weeks. It's been raining so hard and the wind is just horrible. :-(

On a happier note though, glad to hear your Mom is finally home. It is a wonderful news seeing how you update about here and her stay in the hospital. Also, congratulations on your 200th post! Would you have believed it when you started that you would actually write a total of 200 posts and still continuing? :-)

Oh dear Anne. I was just wondering when my first book of the series will be returned. Somehow I suspect the borrower lost it :-( I hope not cause I can't find a copy here available anymore. And seeing these makes me so excited LOL I've read until the fifth series and got stuck. No available ones in the bookstore - but I'm not losing hope LOL
