Fudge Squares Recipe

Hello friends~ Some of you were hoping I would share my recipe for Fudge Squares so here it is.

If you are looking for this week's tea party it is below this post.

This is my mother's recipe and these are quick and easy to make.

Fudge Squares
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 large egg
1 cup flour
1 tsp bk powder
splash of vanilla, dash of salt, and about a 1/4 cup crushed walnuts.

Beat altogether. The batter will be thick so you will have to spread it evenly into the pan. Next time I make these I will not add the walnuts because I prefer them without but perhaps you like the nuts in a square.

Bake in a 8X8 or 9x9 pan at 350 for 20 minutes.

Frosting

1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp of butter
splash of vanilla

Boil for 2 to 3 minutes and remove from heat. Beat with a spoon until thickened. The frosting should have the consistency of fudge. Spread on the squares while they are still warm from the oven. Enjoy!

Thank you for your visit and please come back and join me next week for my combo tea party celebrating St Patrick's Day and the First Day of Spring.

I am sharing this with these lovely parties ~
