Hello everyone and welcome to my HOME!
This time of year when we're snowed in and can't get out much we tend to bake more. Or at least I do.
For my tea this week, I served a Chocolate Pudding and today I am sharing the recipe. There's nothing quite like home made! This recipe comes from an old Purity Cook Book.
Chocolate Pudding
Scald together:
2-1/2 cups milk
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
When chocolate is melted, beat smooth with a rotary beater.
In a saucepan, combine:
3 TBSP flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
Gradually blend in hot milk mixture.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes longer.
Stir a little hot mixture into -
1 slightly beaten egg
Pour back into the remaining hot mixture and stir and cook 2 minutes longer.
Remove from heat and blend in
1 tsp vanilla
Chill.
Yield- 5-6 servings.
I served the pudding with a dollop of whipped cream and some shaved chocolate on top. This recipe would also make a wonderful pie. Just pour the pudding into a baked pie crust and cover with whipped cream. Yum!
Thank you for visiting today and I hope the rest of your week is very pleasant.
