Tea Time Tuesday

"The serene philosophy of the pink rose is steadying. Its fragrant, delicate petals open fully and are ready to fall, without regret or disillusion, after only a day in the sun. One can almost hear their pink, fragrant murmur as they settle down upon the grass: 'Summer, summer, it will always be summer.' "  ~ Quote from Victoria magazine by Rachel Peden.

Welcome friends to my 79th Tea Time Tuesday!

I hope this finds everyone well and happy. I am counting my blessings especially these days because the results of my biopsy were negative so I can breathe easier. Thank you to all who prayed for me and inquired about my health. I am truly blessed by your friendship and I am thankful to God for all of you as well as my family and friends.

This is my first tea party for the month of August; another month to celebrate Summer and all the beauty of the season. My roses keep blooming and I keep bringing them indoors. They are so fragrant and fill the room with their delightful scent.  How I wish they could bloom all year round!

I had already prepared my tea post for today and then I received a lovely surprise in the mail. So I will share that other post with you next week and today's tea post will be about my lovely surprise. This worked out well too because Hubby and I will be out of the province later this week and I'm trying to get posts prepared ahead of time.

Jocelyne @ Jocelyne's Tea Parties ~ http://jocelynesteaparties.blogspot.com/   had a Giveaway to celebrate her birthday back in June. Isn't that a lovely thing to do? And I was the winner! Our postal service had held it up  for a couple of weeks but it arrived safe and sound. I had no idea what I was coming only that it was a surprise. Do you like surprises? I do; especially ones as lovely as Jocelyne's!  This is what she sent me...

A beautiful rose snack set made by Burton & burton called Romantic Rose ...

Isn't it pretty? The teacup sits on this sweet tray which has an indentation for the cup to sit in. I just love it!

Also included in her sweet package was a lovely hand-written card, a pretty white doily tucked inside the teacup, as well as an adorable gold spoon with a teacup on the handle....

...and a little framed scripture verse. I am thrilled and awed by Jocelyne's generosity!

"Sing to the Lord a new song, sing to the the Lord, all the earth." ~ Psalm 96:1

Now, I want you to know there is another very good reason why this snack set is such a lovely surprise. I already had this sweet tea-for-one set which matches the snack set. It is adorned with the same lovely pink roses.

I also had these pieces; a lovely scalloped cake plate as well as a handled tray, all in the same pattern. The pieces I have are all Coventry Garden by Skye McGhie and the Burton and burton snack set is a perfect match. All of these items are made of porcelain. Don't you just love it when this happens? They were all made for each other! It's as though Jocelyne looked through my tea things and  chose this especially for me.

Thank you, Jocelyne. It has been a true blessing to receive this. I hope you will pay Jocelyne a visit. I know she would love for you to stop by!

I never dreamed of 'meeting' such lovely friends when I first started my blog! My blog began as a creative outlet of sorts as I was no longer writing bulletins for church and I missed it. My church bulletins were a little different than most, you see. Most bulletins I've seen are very business like and have mostly church stats, news and upcoming events in them. I wanted mine to be special so I added short stories, poetry, prayer requests, and little tid-bits that would be of interest to those reading them. Anyway, I missed writing them and so, I decided to take a deep breath and create this blog instead. So glad I did!

Now, how about some tea?

The day I created this post, I had had an early morning appointment and I had not had any breakfast. When I got home, I was hungry, so I made myself a cup of Ginger Peach tea, a fruit cup of peaches and strawberries,  and a boiled egg. I used my new snack set and how pretty it looked with my roses and rose petals strewn about the table.

I got nasty habits; I take tea at three. ~ Quote by Mick Jagger
{Sorry, I couldn't resist. This quote made me smile!}

Not only did everything taste good but it was pretty too! Tea was delightful using my new Romantic Rose snack set! And of course, Victoria magazine is never very far away when I'm sipping tea!

If you would like to join me for Tea Time Tuesday, all you have to do is share a favourite tea cup or teapot, a coffee mug, or something tea related. If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too: apple cider, iced tea or iced coffee, hot chocolate, lemonade, or punch. The TTT button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! Please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

NOTE: I will be out of the province this week so I may take a little longer getting around for my visits.
