Spiritual Sundays-

Hello and welcome to my Spiritual Sundays post! The other day I was reading in my little devotional and I came across this one which I thought I would share with you today.

STRENGTH IN WEAKNESS

No one wants to be weak, so we find ways to appear strong. Some of us use the force of our emotions to manipulate people. Others use the force of personality to control people, and some use intellect to intimidate. Although these create an illusion of strength, they are signs of weakness.

When we are truly strong, we have the courage to admit our limitations and to acknowledge our dependence on God. As a result, true strength often looks like weakness. When the apostle Paul prayed that an affliction would be taken from him, God answered, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness" {2 Corinthians 12:9}. Paul responded with these troubling words: "When I am weak, then I am strong."{v. 10}.

Toward the end of Jesus' ministry, some of His disciples were striving for positions of prominence. Jesus used their argument as an opportunity to teach them that in His kingdom things are different: greatness comes when we willingly assume positions of weakness {Matt. 20:26}.

This is a hard truth. But God wants us to realize that true strength comes when we stop trying to control people and start serving them instead. - Julie Ackerman Link

"Whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant." -Matthew 20:26

Pink Saturday~ Everything's Coming Up Roses!

Hi everyone and welcome to my Pink Saturday post. Everything is coming up roses here today; pink roses!

I am so anxious for Spring to arrive. We have had some really nasty weather here lately and I'm dreaming of Spring and warmer weather! So, I decided to share some of my roses from last summer with you.

I am so looking forward to looking out my window and seeing this........
Then cutting them and bringing them indoors so I can enjoy them. The scent is so lovely!
These pretty salmon-pink roses, I picked up at the grocery store yesterday. They were only five dollars for a bunch of over two dozen.

I also have this pretty pink rose votive candle holder which I found at Winners one day. Couldn't resist it!
Thank you to our wonderful hostess Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for bringing us Pink Saturday each week! She is a busy lady but faithfully offers us up this parade of pinks every weekend. Please click on the link http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
or the Pink Saturday button on my sidebar to go visit Beverly and more pinkies. Hope you all have a beautiful weekend. God bless you!
