Tea Time Tuesday

Hello sweet friends and welcome to Tea Time Tuesday. This is my third Tea Time post and I hope you will come in, relax, and enjoy a cup of tea and cookies with me.
The lovely teacup I am sharing with you today was a shower gift from my brother when Hubby and I got married. This is a beautiful teacup embellished with 24 kt. gold and is made of fine bone china. The pattern is called Buckingham and it is made by Royal Stafford of England. It is so lovely that I can envision the Queen of England herself sipping from this cup! Homemade valentine cookies accompany it. Please, help yourself! Today, I am once again sharing an excerpt from "Tea Time with God. "

Among collectors there is always a demand for items bearing the signature of a master craftsman. A stamp on the bottom of a vase indicates it was made by Wedgwood, a label on a violin authenticates a genuine Stradivarius, giving to each item a value far above others. In each case, the potter or the violin maker has established a reputation for excellence in craftsmanship. Anything that bears their names is considered very valuable.

Human beings were made by a great craftsman, the Lord God, our Creator. The psalmist gives praise to God for the magnificence of his own physical being. "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made" {Psalm 139:14}. Of all God's creatures, only men and women bear the likeness of God. That quality separates us from every other creature. We alone are made to fellowship with Him for eternity.

In his essay The Weight of Glory, C. S. Lewis wrote about the potential destiny of each human being:

" It is a serious thing...to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you can talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. All day long we are, in some degree, helping each other to one or the other of these destinations. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities...that we conduct all our dealings with one another, all friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilisations- these are all mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit- immortal horrors or everlasting splendours."

"For we are His workmanship."- Ephesians 2:10

We are all a unique and precious work of art in God's eyes, whether one is a queen or an everyday house wife. I am thankful for each of you who has stopped by for tea today. You are precious!

If you would like to join me and share a favourite teacup or tea pot, along with a short story, testimony, or scripture verse, I welcome you most warmly. Please let me know if you would like to participate and I will gladly add your link to this post. You may use the Tea Time button at the top of my sidebar; my link is underneath. The Lord bless you today and make you a blessing!
