My 100th Post Give-Away

My Give~Away is here!

Hello everyone~ I'm sure you are all looking forward to Spring. I know I am as Spring is my favourite season. There is still much snow around our fair Island but March is here and it promises to warm up soon. The flowers will be soon be poking their heads through the snow and the song birds will be coming back. Once April comes, I'm listening for the song of the little spring-peepers; the tiny tree frogs which sing very loudly at night here behind our home. I think it's the most wonderful time of the year, the exception being Christmas!

I love Spring so much because that is when the earth wakes up from its Winter slumber and everything comes alive again. For those of you who live in a warmer climate, you cannot imagine the relief it is to see the last of the snow as the earth begins to replenish itself with lush greens and the scent of blooms. Spring is fresh and green, and there is an excitement in the air.
So, in celebration of Spring and my 100th post, I am doing my Give-Away in green, which is also one of my favourite colours. I have been working on the package and adding to it but I will only show you one item per day until the drawing on the 10th of March. I will pick one person's name on the 10th, at 10:00 PM Atlantic time.

The rules are as follows: You must guess who the young lady in the picture is, add my 1ooth post button to your blog, linking back to me, and you must leave a comment on this post. I will be checking this post regularly for your comments, so please leave a comment on this particular post if you wish to enter. Thank you and have fun!

My first item in the Give-Away is this little bird house {sorry it's not a better picture} which I have hand painted like the Green Gables house in Cavendish. It has a little bird sitting on the perch and he too is waiting for the first signs of Spring. Please check back tomorrow for another item in my Give~Away. I leave you with this scripture verse and I wish you all a spring-like day. God bless!

"Whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4:14

Spiritual Sundays

Hello friends and welcome to Spiritual Sundays.

My hubby and I just finished watching "Fireproof," a wonderful movie about a young couple who was going through a rough marriage. We highly recommend it to every married couple; especially those who are going through a troubled marriage.

In this day and age when marriages are breaking down all around us, I am so very thankful for my own. Hubby and I have been best friends since we were seventeen years old and we're closer now than we ever were. We are blessed! That's not to say we haven't had our share of problems; we just chose to work through them instead of giving up, and we laugh a lot. Of course, the Lord has always been in the center of our marriage and with His help, we have always been able to overcome whatever came our way.

I believe one problem couples face today is they don't marry with 'forever' in their hearts nor do they seem to marry 'for better or for worse' any more.
Marriage today is almost akin to what we used to call 'going steady.' If it doesn't work out, then you call it quits and move on to the next romance.
That is not God's way!

A marriage is a covenant agreement between two people in the sight of God, and I believe with all my heart that a marriage can survive, indeed be a happy one, if both parties will do their best to make it work and trust God for a miracle.

In our years of ministry, we have counseled many couples who were having marital problems. We have witnessed in our own family how bad a marriage can get and we saw how God turned it around. It takes godly determination, patience, trust, but most of all love; God's kind of love to make it work.

The Bible clearly states that a woman is supposed to look after the needs of her family, that's including those of her husband. The Bible also states that a husband is supposed to love his wife as Christ loved the Church. Now that's a lot of loving! Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-13.

The movie "Fireproof" is all about loving in the midst of the storm. Give it a watch, you'll be glad you did!

PUT CHRIST FIRST IF YOU WANT YOUR MARRIAGE TO LAST.
