A New Birdhouse & A New Look for My Blog.

It's a new year, and with the new year, I thought it was time to get a new look for my blog. If you recall, my blog was rather plain & pink; hot pink to be exact; and I'm not really a hot pink person. Although I like the colour; I just didn't like it on my blog; I wanted a softer look.
So, while my son Jordan was home for the holidays, I asked him to help me apply a new background. I don't know my way around computers very well but as with most young people, he is right on the mark.
He helped me select a background I liked and then he set it all up for me, a new border and all... I also took a new photo of my Rose Chintz coffee set and added that to my header. Did you notice the adorable birdhouse beside the dishes? That is Jordan's Christmas gift to me. I love it!
The birdhouse is made of tin, hand painted on all sides and has the Fleur-de-lis on the roof. The Fleur-de-lis is actually a raised pattern in the tin and just lightly brushed with gold; so it is very ornate. The birdhouse is also decorated with pink crystals. I thought you birdhouse lovers would appreciate seeing it!

Thank you Jordan for all your help, I couldn't have done it without you. And thanks once again for the birdhouse. You really know what Mama likes!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Another Award, Another Birthday, and Another New Year!

Hello and Happy New Year everyone. How did you spend your New Year's Eve? Hubby & I spent the evening with our sons Jeff and Jordan, playing Monopoly. Jordan won of course, as he usually does! We are having a blizzard today so we will be spending the day cooped up all cozy and pray that the power doesn't go out. We could get up to 40 cm. of the white stuff with exceedingly high winds! Yuck!!

With the New Year, comes another birthday!
.....Yes, I'm a New Year's baby. I was supposed to be born on Christmas Day and after waiting a week, my mother decided it was time to get things rolling, so she took a dose of castor oil. Lo and behold, I finally made my appearance on New Years Day; and that's ALL I'm telling you!

Yesterday I visited Suzann's blog at Lavender and Roses at http://suzann-marie.blogspot.com/ and was pleasantly surprised to find that she had won an award and she had graciously passed it on to me. Still new to blogging, I'm always surprised and honoured that someone would want to bless me with an award.
To accept this award, I must mention who I received the award from and link back to her. Then I am to write the following into my post:

"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY- nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award."

I find this award very complimentary and I feel blessed to have had it bestowed upon me. What a wonderful birthday present! Thank you Suzann!

I would like to bless the following eight bloggers with this award:
