TBT - Throw Back Thursday and I Have A Date

Hello dear friends! I hope you are all enjoying this first week of April. We Islanders are finally enjoying a mild sunny day. We're not used to this! Tomorrow we are getting lots of rain but it will take away what's left of the snow.
Spring would not be spring without bird songs. ~ Francis M. Chapman

I am looking forward to the trees budding and walking in the fresh air and listening to the song of my little feathered friends.

The Haunted Wood at Green Gables

I can't wait to explore new paths through the trees.

Not too many songbirds have shown up yet but they will shortly.

It will be lovely to be able to take our coffee down to the waterfront again.

I am featuring some of my pink teacups again today. Royal Albert is so timeless and each lovely cup and saucer is a little work of art. I am happy that God put within the heart of men and women the ability to create something so beautiful. England of course is well known for turning out magnificent china and has been doing so for centuries.

I have been hankering for sponge cake but I can't have any right now. This cake is from a last year's post. It is a plain white cake sandwiched with my strawberry preserves and whipped cream.

My hubby isn't big on cake but he does enjoy this one.

Would you like to join me?

Spending time with friends over a cup of tea makes a day very special!

It's been a hard week, so I chose to use a post from last year although I have made a few changes to it.
I have a date for one of my surgeries. It will be the first week in May. I am still waiting to see the surgeon about my gallbladder. I had a really bad attack this past week and I thought, this is it! But it passed after a couple of hours. I am still sore but it's getting better.

I appreciate your ongoing prayers for me. Soon, I hope all of this will be behind me and I can get back to normal.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe and remember to count your blessings! We really have so many when you think about it.

PS ~ Sorry, my post is a bit messed up today. Not sure what happened with all these link within thing-a-majigs showing up.

  1. Dear Sandi:
So glad you have a date for the one surgery and feeling better from the other situation. Pain is not nice! Go away pain! I was reading along and thought it said that you take your coffee table down to the beach - I had to reread it! Good grief! Prayers for you my friend!

  2. Sandi, I am so sorry to hear that your gall bladder continues to give trouble and that you've not yet been able to see the surgeon about it. I am praising God with you, though, that you have a date for the first surgery and will definitely be keeping you in my prayers.

All of your tea things are beautiful and that cake looks simply scrumptious. Thanks for taking time to put together a post when you really don't feel well, and for letting us know the timing of your surgery so we can pray. Keep us posted as to how things are going!

  3. Good to hear you have one date and can start dealing with these things one at a time. My, looking at the strawberry shortcake makes me want to make one too, there are 2 bags of strawberries left in the freezer from last summer.
Wish I could sit down to tea with you, do you mind if I choose Serna for mine?
    Continued prayers my friend.
    xx

  6. I'd to join you for a cup of tea! My mom acquired the Lady Carlyle 5-piece setting from the Royal Doulton store last year, although I don't think her pieces were made in England.

Glad to hear that one surgery date has been set. Sorry to hear about the gallbladder attack that lasted 2 hours (!). Yikes! Some people have told me that the pain is worse than labour!

  13. At least there is one goal ahead...that is good! Will continue to pray for you. I empathize with the GB pain, having gone through it, it is terrible! Mine was out of town in a hotel so could not wait to get home and get to a doctor! Lovely to see your teacups...some of my favorites! And the strawberries are perfect! One day at a time...it indeed has enough cares of it's own.
