"The mere chink of cups and saucers tunes the mind to happy repose." ~ George Gissing
Welcome friends to another Tea Time Tuesday ~
Some ladies love clothes, some love purses and shoes, others love jewelery, and so on! I have always loved pretty china! How about you? It just makes my heart go pitter-pat!
When I was a young bride-to-be, preparing to set up housekeeping, I started collecting china and glassware.
I had a nice collection but once my little ones started coming along, I had to get rid of many of my beloved pieces. In those early days, we moved around a lot so I ended up giving much of it away, including my tea sets. *sigh*
Fast forward to our present day.... Our children are all grown up and on their own so it's just Hubby and me once again.
Little by little, I have found some very nice pieces; my most prized collection being Johnson Bros. Rose Chintz.
I do however hanker after transferware; especially the red.
I know I don't have nearly that many. Maybe not even fifty. I wouldn't have any place to store them for one thing. Do you know how many teacups you have?
This Summer, I have been fortunate to find several teacups which I have had on my 'Treasure Hunt' list. And last weekend, I found yet another teacup which I have been searching for!
This lovely teacup is Royal Albert's Serena. Yes, Betty, I finally found one! Isn't she pretty?
I just love this vintage cup with the lush pink roses accented with blue anemones and colourful posies! The fern just adds to its charm along with the gold rims. Inside the cup is a small bouquet on both sides. Whether you are right-handed or left-handed, you have something pretty to look at while sipping your favourite tea.
It is a flared and waisted style called Melvern and I find it very classy.
The timelessness of china and lace never fail to enchant me~
I found a battenburg lace runner when I was away visiting my relatives. It cost me all of two dollars at a thrift store. I love this intricate lace adorning the pure white cotton!
I have set my tea table with this runner and two of my new teacups. One for you and one for me....Serena and Lady Carlyle.
A lovely peach tea steeps in the teapot. Would you like a cup?
My roses are all done so I have pink roses from the grocery store.
Juicy peaches topped by a lovely crumble and fresh whipped cream is a real treat this time of year!
Happiness is sharing tea with a friend.
I still have a few favourites on my 'Treasure Hunt' list, one of which is Royal Albert's Blossom Time and another is American Beauty as well as a few others. What pattern are you hankering for these days?
"Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart." ~ Psalm 37:4
I am happy to see all your tea things, whether you have shared them before or not. This tea party is all about sharing your joy of tea time and any thoughts you might have on the subject. And for the summer months, I would love to see your teacups and teapots indoors as well as out in the garden, at the beach, on a park bench, etc...
Also I would enjoy seeing your teacup and teapot crafts as well as recipes and any stories you might have to share about tea time. So, let's have fun this summer with our teas. Get out there and be as creative, fancy, or as laid back as you wish!
I am delighted you have stopped by for a visit today. Your presence always make my tea party that much more special! Do you have a favourite teacup/teapot or mug that you would like to share with us today? I would love to see it and I'm sure others would too!
If you wish, you may do coffee instead of tea or the following is acceptable too:
Hot apple cider
Hot chocolate
Lemonade
Iced tea or coffee
Punch in a lovely bowl.
No alcoholic beverages please.
The Tea Time Tuesday button on my sidebar is available for you to use in your post or place on your sidebar if you wish. A poem, tea quote, or scripture verse would be more than welcome! To be sure everyone has a visit, it would be nice if you visited the participant before and after your name.
Inlinkz is available below for you to sign up for my tea party.
As a courtesy, please link back to me so that your visitors may find their way here to visit with all my lovely participants.

This is so exceptionally lovely Sandi. It always brightens my day to visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely pinks, teatime pretties and roses.
Thank for hosting dear lady.
Blessings, Wanda Lee
Your new teacup is very pretty indeed. Everything looks so lovely. I like the sound of the peach tea, and the peach crumble had my mouth watering.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! Your new teacup is gorgeous and the last photo is amazing.
Blessings,
~Wendy
Thank you for inviting us to tea again! I always look forward to your tea times. Your new teacup is so very pretty. I'm so glad she found a home with you! Your pie looks delicious and your lovely table linen with the pink roses and vase sets the tea table off perfectly. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteNancy
You might not have 500 teacups, Sandi, but what you have area all lovely. Love that red transferware too.I just bought an Old Britain Castles tea set but unfortunatelky, I ran out of room in the cabinet to display it so it is in the garage in its nice box. I have not counted my collection but I have a lot, not quite 500 though, unless I count the ones included in dinnerware sets...Christine
ReplyDeleteOh Serena and Lady Carlye. Be still my heart. Throw in rose chintz. Ah...heavenly. I do have a Serena but none of the other two. Maybe someday. They all look so happy together.
ReplyDelete:) Ruthie
Dear Sandi,
ReplyDeletecongratulations to that new find. Serena is so beautiful. And match perfect with Lady Carlyle. The whole table is a delight and on top you serve this yummy crumble. Thank you so much for sharing such wonderful moments and for hosting this charming event.
Best greetings, Johanna
Hi Sandi! Oh I love all of your beautiful teacups but I must say that your new Serena teacup is out of this world. I wish I could find roses at the grocery store as lovely and such a pretty pink. One teacup I am looking for is Royal Winton "summertime".
ReplyDelete~Clara
Oh - dear lady - how delightful to step back into Blogland and our teatimes together - how I have missed them being so buried under work obligations. Wish I was a lady of leisure, but, alas - my days will get even more pressed when school starts again. I hope, however, to prep my teatimes later in the week and just publish in time for our Tuesday links.
ReplyDeleteMy, you've set quite the spread today - and your apple crumb looks too delish - wish this wasn't a virtual teatime, sometimes . . .
So grand that you found your Serena cup - isn't it a great feeling when you stumble across a treasure like that? I always receive such things as little love gifts from the Lord - who knows our hearts and how to bless us with simple joys. Tea in a lovely cup - joy!
Ho many cups do I have? Well, I do have almost 100 for bulk use when I do large tea programs, but the teacups I've been collecting since I started blogging is much more distinct and special. I keep them in my tea cabinet which I sometimes feature. And, I'm always looking for the next great find!
Joy!
Kathy
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteYour new teacup is gorgeous! You have so many lovely pieces of china. Enjoy your new Serena.
Hi lovely lady!

FABBY
Hello Sandi
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you found Serena for your collection! I like the pink vase, and of course the peach pie.
There I was in the Niagara region and didn't have a chance to buy some peaches to bring home. At least I can get a basket at the grocery store.
Happy tea Tuesday!
Judith
You have a truly lovely collection of teacups, Sandi.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter went up to the lake this weekend and brought me back Catawba Peaches!!!! But she had to work today, so I won't get them till tomorrow- but I honestly thought of making a peach pie for Tea Tuesday, but tomorrow is laced with appointments, etc - so had to post early and w/o anything made of peaches.
Adore your pretty new teacup!
Love the Serena cup, love the pink vase, love the peach crumble pie...LOVE IT ALL!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy

I love and grew up on Royal Albert! I have several. The Serina is a prize and I do not have that one! I have two in the Blossom time series though!

ReplyDeleteSerena is beautiful isn't it? As I said in my blog I was going to serve tea in it today and decided not.I also love the little vase you used today it is so pretty as well as the roses. Gorgeous. You must find the other tea cup of Serena with roses all in the inside and the design on the out.
ReplyDeleteI also love dishes, the shapes and colours, etc. But shoes are a pretty close.
The transferware was beautiful too. All of it is. Thank you for sharing-God bless

Hi Sandi, I'm so glad you are now able to collect your beloved tea sets again.
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly finding some exquisite pieces to share with us!
The new cup is very pretty and I really like how you've stacked the cups for your photo.
I've never actually counted my cups but now you've made me inquisitve to know how many I do have, lol!
Thanks for hosting such a beautiful event each week.
And thanks for all your lovely kind comments and visits :-)
You are very special!
love and blessings..Trish xx
Hi Sandi, Your peach pie looks delightful! Love that pink vase and your teacups are glorious, as always. You always set a pretty tea table. You asked about china we'd like to have: well, I hate to be greedy; I should get rid of some before taking on more. I have 16 different china patterns - not all complete but enough to set the table for a meal. I'd love to have Rose Chintz (I recently bought 2 teacups on Ebay) and Blue Willow. One other thing I wanted to let you know. I am not doing as many tea posts now as I am just super busy in the garden these days. One day last week I worked for 7 hours - yes, in ONE day. Perhaps my garden is too large! lol
ReplyDeleteHugs, Beth
Sandi, you have the most gorgeous tea cups and saucers! I have anew hankering for transferware, but have yet to find a piece of red. Oh how I would love a small collection. Both you and I are peachy today. Thanks for hosting your lovely party. Always so happy when I have something to share.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
Your blog is beautiful, your teacups are to die for. I enjoyed every click of the mouse. Thank you for hosting the party.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Hello Sandi, Well, I loved all the beauty and detail in this post. Thank you so much! I'm sure I've mentioned before my fairly large collection of Rose Chintz and it is definitely one of my treasures.
ReplyDeleteBut now I must add Serena to the wish list as well – absolutely gorgeous!
I definitely don't have 500 or even 50 teacups but the ones I do have are very special. Although they mostly get used as props since I don't drink tea.
Wishing you a beautiful week!
Georgianna
Hello Sandi,
ReplyDeleteLovely post today. All your collections are lovely. I don't have 500 either, I think around 50 all told. And it seems like a lot to me. I am sending my daughter off on her own soon, and you can be sure she will take a dozen with her.
Your peach crumble looks so delicious! I bet it smelled heavenly when you took it out of the oven.
Hugs,
Terri
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteHappy you found the pretty teacup you were looking for.
You know I love peach crumble pie-hope you saved me a piece!
I am scared to count how many teacups I have but it is not 500.
Thank you for hosting,
Carolyn
Oh, Sandi!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for checking in with me on my blog tonight. Hi Sandi: I have missed a few parties of late with my trip and daughter getting married but I am back and raady to join in again. I have missed seeing your beautiful posts. Serena is a little piece of art. So, so beautiful. I will have to keep my eyes open for one. That pie would have my husband running as it is his very favorite. Beautiful photos all over this post today. Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteLove those "NEW" teacups you have been finding! I am a mix and match person and love them together! Beautiful posting here....
ReplyDeletepretty, pretty, pretty! I love that delicate pink colored vase. And your flowers and tea set compliment it perfectly! God Bless.
ReplyDeleteI love the way these pretty cups mix and match so nicely!
ReplyDeleteAs many beautiful teacups there are out there in the world - and there are plenty of them! - I always seem to migrate towards the ones with pink roses/flowers on them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, Sandi!

Your Serena teacup is gorgeous. I also love the Lady Carlyle and was able to purchase a set when I was visiting Canada recently. What a lovely runner you found at the thrift store too.
ReplyDeleteThe Peach Crumble Pie looks yummy.
Hello Sandi,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by my blog! I am glad you enjoyed our new aqua room!
I have been thinking of you lately. I will be re-designing my garden this winter and I have some questions to ask you with regards to some plants you have in your garden. I'll be sending a message later this fall.
I love tea cups, too. Serena was my choice when mom and I had tea parties when I was a little girl. I have that cup and saucer now and have even been able to add to a collection of it. I think I have 5 cups and saucers now as well as a few dinner plates, salad plates and bread and butter plates. I collect pretty china, too!) I also have a Lady Carlisle cup and saucer which was my mother-in-loves. Thank you for sharing your tea-post with us!!
Love and hugs, Laura
Hi Sandi...this is one of my favorite blog posts of all you have done! It just must be all that pink. I have missed you...too much going on in my life right now. The tea blogs are such a comfort and a delight.
ReplyDeleteLove,
