Welcome friends to another Tea Time Tuesday ~
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends~
I am posting a little early today because of the holiday. Today we are celebrating Thanksgiving Day here in Canada; a day we gather together around the table which is laden with a bounty of food, including a favourite of mine, pumpkin pie.
It's a day in which to give thanks to our Creator for all of His wonderful blessings.
"...in everything give thanks." ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18
I am thankful for so many things; the love of my family and good friends, my home, and good food on the table. Although I have several health issues, I am thankful for the health I do enjoy. It can always be worse! Most of all, I thank Him for His love and what He has done for me.
This week, I am sharing a special tea I had about a week ago with two of my favourite people; my sweet Auntie P and Uncle Doug. Auntie P is a retired nurse and Uncle Doug is a retired policeman; two special people who care very much about others.
I am thankful for loved ones...
The photo above was taken this past Summer while we were on vacation. They had taken Hubby and me to Fundy National Park to see St. Martins. St. Martins is a small village in New Brunswick, Canada where the shore is covered in beautiful stone instead of sand. Some of this stone was gathered by my parents to build the fireplace in their first home.

You may not know this about me but I collect rocks. Yes, I do. I have rocks from different countries from around the world that my children and aunt and uncle have brought back to me. One thing I have always wanted to do is travel through the States and collect rocks from each state I visit. As of right now, I only have a rock from Florida, California, and Maine. I would love to be able to collect a rock from each state or some very unique ones.
Anyway, enough about rocks, on to my tea....Auntie P is not only my aunt but a very dear friend. She and Uncle Doug had come over to the Island for a little tour and a visit with me. They also brought me a little something which I will share in next week's post.
It is not often I get to visit with my beloved relatives because we live in two different provinces. So, it is always a treat when we can get together.
I set the tea table with an assortment of red and pink china because of the red roses which were the focal point.
I am thankful for beautiful flowers...
My raspberry coloured goblets held spring water.
I used Royal Albert Lavender Rose teacups and Burleigh Victorian Chintz salad plates.
I am thankful for beautiful china...
I served the nibbles on my two tiered cake stand.
The King's Crown jug makes a pretty container for holding my little spoons, don't you think?
I used a King's Crown sherbet dish and my son's silver baby spoon for holding some lovely home made strawberry-apple sauce.
The teapot was filled with a nice hot orange pekoe tea. This teapot I also use for coffee and hot chocolate. I love its pretty floral pattern and ruffled bottom.

There were blueberry and cranberry muffins as well as croissants filled with egg salad.
I am thankful for good food...
and pretty teacups...
We really had a lovely visit and afterwards these dear ones left on a tour of the Island.
Sharing tea with friends or loved ones is a delightful respite.
I had a little accident after they left!
I always wash my fine china by hand, piece by piece. When I was cleaning up after our tea, I lifted a teacup up out of the dishwater to clean it, and to my dismay, the bottom had cracked out of one of the teacups. This was quite a disappointment, as you can imagine, because it had belonged to my mother and of course, it is costly to replace. So, what did I do? I glued the bottom back on to the teacup and set a votive candle in it. So now I have a beautiful teacup candle to enjoy. No use in crying over it.
I am thankful for being able to look on the bright side and create something lovely out of something broken...
Life comes at us with a cornucopia full of surprises; some good, some not so good. But it's how we receive the surprises that shape us into who we are. I'm thankful to God who has my best interests at heart and He promises to take care of me come what may. Yes, I am truly blessed!

When we were in PEI several years ago, I brought home several red clay stones as they're quite unique.
The stones you showed are the same type that lined the shore at the cottage on Lake Huron where we stayed this summer - quite a number of these smooth stones came away with me as well.

And surely all the Royal Albert china and your Chintz pattern also. The pebble stones are so smooth and pretty colored. I think, they are more beautiful when wet. I always love such stones, too. I too love those rocks and we use some very similar to make a little beach area around our pool. I call it Stoney beach. LOL
It is interesting to know that you collect rocks. I think there are beautiful rocks and stones in the world. I love to paint on rocks too.
I am so sorry your teacup bottom broke out. But like you said, something pretty still to be enjoyed from a little mishap. Life just goes that way sometime. My mother always said, "we have to take the bitter with the sweet in life."
I so hope your health issues are less in the coming year.

Your King's Crown jug intrigues me - I have 6 goblets and a dish that matches it perfectly, but I thought it was called Americana ware!
I bought mine at a "party" more than 30 years ago.
There's so much loveliness in this post that I can't pick a favourite item from all you've shared with us lol!
