Pink Saturday ~ Spiritual Sundays

Hello dear friends! I hope you all had a good week!

I wasn't sure what I was going to share for Pink Saturday or Spiritual Sundays this week and then a parcel arrived in the mail just in time for this post.
Remember back in August when Beverly and Kelee had the Miracle Makeover Weekend for Colette? There were several Giveaways to be won. Well, I was one of the winners!

Now before I show you what was in the parcel, I would like to share with you a little story....

About three weeks ago, I had received some rather distressing news about a member of my family and I had been quite distraught over it. I'm sorry I cannot divulge the details but I had asked for your prayers for me and my family.

One thing you should know about me is that I very seldom ever get down but this situation had brought me to my knees like no other had. I have always had a lot of faith and it is my faith in God that always gets me through the adversities that come my way. This one however, was paramount in nature compared to the rest! I was praying for a miracle because that is what it was going to take.

One morning I got up, more distressed than usual, and discovered I had received a comment on a Spiritual Sundays post from Kelee informing me that I had won a Giveaway from the Miracle Makeover weekend. It was a painting by Karen Harvey Cox ~ http://karenharveycox.blogspot.com/ which she had donated to that event.

Now I want you to know that I don't put too much stock in signs but this was definitely a sign from God that He had heard my prayer and a miracle was on its way. I don't know how or when, only that a miracle was coming!

You may be wondering why I think this. Well, it's because I had prayed for a miracle and the name of the painting is called Miracle.

Now, what are the chances of little old me winning this painting out of the many hundreds who participated in the Miracle Makeover weekend? Is it a coincidence? I don't believe it is.

So, I opened this good sized box which had a picture of Karen's Secret Garden on it, and after digging through a lot of styrofoam pebbles and bubble wrap, I came upon this pink bubble wrap.

I opened up the bubble wrap to find Karen's beautiful painting. Isn't it wonderful? The frame is lovely too, isn't it? It is matted and framed much like other prints I already have in my home.

This is one of the other prints in my home. You can see the pink blossoming trees in the scene.

With the painting Karen had also included a letter explaining how she was inspired to paint this while living in Hong Kong. Thank you Karen for donating this special piece of artwork. I will cherish it always!

Here is the MIRACLE painting in the room. Whenever I gaze upon this painting it will serve as a reminder that God has heard my prayer and a miracle from His hand is coming!

"There on the ground amongst rocks and dirt, a flower blooms..."

A closeup reveals that the flower is indeed pink; sorry about the reflection.

"Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles He performs for people!" ~ Psalm 66:5

  11. What a nice blessing you received! Sometimes we just need one of those sweet events as an answer to prayer. I am reminded of one such special event in my life which came at just the right time...also at a time of an upsetting family situation. Now, years later I can see it worked out for the best.

  14. God works in many wonderful ways but especially through people and he certainly used the painting 'Miracle' at the time that you needed it most.. awesome :)
Thank you, too, for participating in lighting a candle. I have so many friends who have been bereaved of a child and hubby has taken quite a few funerals for stillborn babies etc so I felt it was important to join in the act of remembrance - so thank you for taking the time to join in too.. 16. That is a beautiful painting. And how wonderful that God used it to speak encouragement to your heart. So, I guess when those doubting days come, all you have to do is look at your "miracle" painting and be reminded that He is working your situation out.

By the way, your livingroom is beautiful. What a lovely and relaxing place to enjoy a cup of tea and some moments of quiet.

Love and prayers, my sweet friend,
    Patti

My thoughts and prayers are with you always and I pray that your miracle is on it's way.
When i know that things are out of control and out of my hands, I always say I kiss it up to God and place it in his hands and usually I feel a sense of calm after I get to that point.
    Love to you ,dear friend,

  21. That is SO awesome Sandi ! I too have had God Hugs and it is wonderful ! When I was going through my divorce, before I met my Forever Hubby, I was so broken. It was Valentines day, and I was feeling sorry for myself, and thought, Gee, I will NEVER get to celebrate Valentines again with someone. ( Drama Queen, lol ! :) ) I prayed to Jesus, to please be my Valentine. Just fill me with You Lord, so I never feel alone. Well, I walked into work that morning and on my desk was a vase with Three roses in it. My Boss had brought them for me. I asked "why" as in 6 years of working there, they never even gave me a Card, let alone a gift. And he said, something prompted him too. He felt like I might need them. ( He was Muslim from Turkey ) I sat there and cried with Joy at my Three roses, from My Father, His Son and His Holy Spirit. :)

Lifting Fresh Prayers for you :) :)

  26. Hello Sandi Girl...

I'm sooo glad you won this beautiful picture. It was MEANT FOR YOU!

Now...I guess I'm weird. I think God sends me 'signs' all the time but I'm just too busy or preoccupied to notice His presence...or at least use to be. Too many things have happened to me that have brought me love and encouragement to ever think God doesn't use even the every day 'normal stuff' in order to speak peace to my heart. So...if I see the Lord in something, even if it's just for me, then I let it be.

    Here's YOUR SIGN!

    Here's YOUR MIRACLE!

    Love to you sweet friend~

    Rebecca

  32. Hi Sandi, I believe everything comes to those who ask and are open to how it is received. We ask God for many things, but then attach strings and conditions to our request. If we are open and patience our prayers are answered. p.s. Your Mircale painting is lovely and a treasure! Take care:)

  34. Dear Sandi,
I will surely pray for you - It has touched my heart that the best thing we can do for one another is to pray! When things get tough, and they will - God does impart His strength when we lean and trust in Him! What a marvelous thought how much He loves us!
I hope you have a Delightsome Sunday,
    Kathy

  35. I'm so happy you won that sweet surprise but sad about your family member. All I have to offer is prayers. And we all know God answers prayer we just have to have faith as small as a mustard seed. I'm glad you will be able to look at the lovely picture and know a miracle is coming. Have a blessed day.

  44. Dear Sandi...I am so delighted to read your post. Oh, I most definitely believe in signs. I get them all the time. And I believe you got yours in a most wonderful way. Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened to you.

No matter what, let that painting be a reminder to you to expect God's best. Take a moment everyday to look at it with thanksgiving for the outcome of well-being for all involved. Know that you have already received the miracle and its fruition is about to manifest.

    Have a very pink day,
    Marianne
